TRF Ladies Association Supports Cataract Camp at Parivar Kalyan Sangh, Telco

The TRF Ladies Association (TRFLA) along with the Parivar Kalyan Sansthan (PKS) of Tata Motors launched a cataract camp at the PKS Health Centre on September 6, 2011. The TRF Ladies Association aims to reach out to 150 cataract patients by intraocular lens implant, thereby restoring their eye sight during the camp. Under the camp, the Ladies Association intends to cover those affected people residing in the neighborhood of its housing colony, TRF Nagar. The cost of treatment of the patients is being be borne by the TRF Ladies Association and a cheque, as partsponsorship was handed over by Mrs Madhuri Deoras, Chairperson, TRF Ladies Association to Mr Anindo Roy, Community Services, Tata Motors during the launch programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Mrs Deoars, said that the synergy between the Ladies Association and the PKS had yielded rich dividends and enabled them to reach a large number of patients. She added that it was noble task as it helped the affected persons, who were mostly senior citizens to lead a more meaningful life.

Mr Anindo Roy of Community Services, Tata Motors reciprocated by stating that the TRF Ladies Association had become the biggest partner of the PKS. He lauded the efforts of the Association in reaching out to the underprivileged section of the society through numerous welfare programmes. He said that it was noteworthy that the Parviar Kalyan Sansthan and the TRF Ladies Association had been conducting the cataract camp for over ten years during which over a thousand people had benefited.

The TRF Ladies Association conducts several other community welfare activities such as rain water harvesting, free weekly health clinics, vocational training for SC/ST students with the objective of making them employable and blood donation camps. It also runs a literacy class for needy children called 'Akshar' and a women empowerment programme called 'Astitva'.
