TRF Ladies Association Collects 152 units of Blood through Donation Camp
300 Units Collected in 2011
The TRF Ladies Association conducted its second blood donation camp today in the year 2011.
The TRF Ladies Association (TRFLA) which is the corporate social responsibility arm of the
company collected 152 units of blood donated voluntarily by the employees of TRF and its
subsidiary York Transport and its associates. Thus, the TRFLA has conducted two blood donation
camps in Jamshedpur and has been successful in collecting 300 units of blood, in the year 2011.
The camp was organized with active support of members from the Voluntary Blood Donors
Association and the Blood Bank of Jamshedpur.
The blood donation camp was jointly inaugurated by Mr Sudhir Deoras, MD, TRF Limited and Mr
Rakeshwar Pandey, President of Tata Robins Fraser Labour Union. Mr Sudhir Deoras, who was
the chief guest on the occasion, said that blood donation was a noble deed in which we must
participate and encourage our colleagues to donate blood. He pointed that there was an acute
shortage of blood in the city and hence we must encourage friends and colleagues to donate
blood as it would help to save many more lives. He appealed to all employees of the Company to
participate voluntarily in community welfare activities for the benefit of the less privileged.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rakeshwar Pandey, TRF Labour Union lauded the role of the TRF
Ladies Association in organizing this camp consistently and for carrying out several meaningful
community welfare programmes from which the surrounding community had benefited. He
acknowledged the role of the TRFLA in conducting several community uplift activities and taking
forward the Company's commitment to improving the quality of life of those residing in its
vicinity.
Speaking earlier, Mrs Madhuri Deoras, Chairperson of the Ladies Association welcomed the
donors and thanked the TRF management for supporting the blood donation camp and other
initiatives of the Ladies Association. She also spoke about some of the recent activities of TRFLA,
including supporting a cataract camp for 150 patients. She reiterated that the Ladies Association
was committed to undertaking welfare programmes that would help to improve the quality of
life of those residing in the proximity of the Company?s premises, especially in Birsanagar.
