Dear Colleague,
A little over a year ago, a Committee was appointed to identify and select a person to succeed me on my retirement in December 2012. The Tata Sons Board today unanimously approved the Committee's recommendation on the appointment of Mr. Cyrus P. Mistry as Deputy Chairman of Tata Sons. He will take over from me next December on my retirement. I am looking forward to working with Mr. Mistry in the coming months and sharing with him the complexity, the challenges and the future vision of our Group and trust that you will extend the same whole-hearted support to him as you have to me.
