Jamshedpur The TRF Ladies Association took one more step forward in the direction of helping the needy students, residing in the ‘bustee’ near TRF Nagar (colony), to study at home and utilize their time gainfully after school hours. The TRF Ladies Association as part of its corporate social responsibility programme today distributed 60 solar lanterns among students studying in its literacy school, ‘Akshar’ and some select students, all of who reside in the neighbouring ‘bustee’. Earlier this year it has distributed 30 solar lamps to ‘Akshar’ students and those living in the immediate vicinity of its housing colony, TRF Nagar. The TRF Ladies Association, the corporate social responsibility arm of the Company, is committed to improving the quality of life of those residing in the proximity of the Company’s premises, especially in Birsanagar. It has set up a rain water harvesting facility with the aim of distributing potable water to those living in the TRF Nagar’s adjoining ‘bastee’ of Birsanagar. Through this rain water harvesting facility, the adjoining ‘bustee’ gets, every day, potable water which till now was scarce. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs Madhuri Deoras, Chairperson of the Ladies Association urged the children and their parents to use the lantern as it would help the children to study and learn good habits and values. She informed them about the numerous social welfare programme of the association such as helping cataract patients, conducting free health clinic, blood donation programme, employability training for girls, etc . Senior office bearers of the TRF Ladies Association, namely Mrs P Kharkar and Mrs C Dutta, along with other members such as Dr Archana Srivastava, Mrs I Singh, Mrs Deepa Bharati and Mrs UH Raju were also present on the occasion.
