157 Units of Blood Collected at ‘Navjivan’, Blood Donation Camp*

One hundred and fifty-seven (157) employees and associates of TRF Limited voluntarily donated blood at ‘Navjivan’, the blood donation camp organized by TRF Ladies Association* at TRF premises. ‘Navjivan’ was successfully conducted with the help of Blood Bank of Jamshedpur and Voluntary Blood Donors Association of Jamshedpur. In the last financial year, the TRFLA had been able to collect 319 units from two ‘Navjivan’ camps.

Mrs P Vijaya Radhika, Chairperson, TRFLA welcomed the employees of the Company for lauded their commitment to serve fellow by participating in the camp. She gave a brief update on the numerous community welfare programmes of the Ladies Association and appealed to the employees to support the Association by voluntarily participating in its literacy and education, women empowerment programmes.

Mr M Hiramanek, Deputy President of Tata Robins Fraser Labour Union said that blood donation was a noble activity and we must participate in it and motivate our friends and colleagues also. While appreciating the efforts of the Association in serving the community he appealed to all employees to not to hesitate in donating blood as it was a life-saving act.

Navijan’ camp was formally inaugurated by the lighting of lamp by Mrs P Vijaya Radhika, Mr M Hiramanek, Mr MH Patel, Mr Sanjay Kumar and Mr RB Rai. During the inauguration, the medical department of TRF also announced that it would donate over 40 blood issue coupons to needy cancer patients of Meherbhai Tata Memorial Hospital, Jamshedpur
